Jose Mourinho hits out at VAR decisions in Turkish Super Lig match

Fenerbahçe's head coach, Jose Mourinho, who secured a 2-0 away victory against Antalyaspor in the 7th week of the Turkish Trendyol Süper Lig, expressed his desire for good Video Assistant Referees (VAR) who can assist the main referees effectively. The world-famous Portuguese manager shared his thoughts in the press conference held after the match at Corendon Airlines Park Antalya Stadium.Regarding the match won by the Turkish giant through goals from Dusan Tadic and an own goal by Antalyaspor's Thalisson Kelven, Mourinho said that his team was better in the second half, more disciplined and when the players understood what they wanted to do and played simply, they showed a better performance.Responding to a question about his reaction, which involved placing a laptop in front of the camera, Mourinho said:"I like good VAR. For me it doesn't matter if it is Turkish or if it is from another nationality. I just want a VAR that helps the referee to take the right decisions. My analyst put the laptop in front of me with the position of the left back. That probably was not the position that the VAR analysed because we have the tactical camera that gives us the complete width of the pitch. The left back was in position. For us it is a good goal. I didn't say a single word. I didn't make any kind of pressure. I just put the laptop in there. There are many doubtful situations in the game. Many. Since minute one until a possible penalty on Dzeko, until a second yellow card by the elbow on Tadic, by this Dzeko goal. There are many doubtful situations. But I live with you. I just had that reaction in a calm way. But the referee with me decided to give me a yellow card. It's OK."Writing by Fahri Aksut(Footage by Oktay Özden/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
