Tunisia's National Guard Takes Part In An Operation Against Illegal Migration

Sfax, Tunisia. 09 June 2023: The Tunisian Maritime National Guard intercept boats of migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea before returning the migrants to the shore of the Tunisian southern city of Sfax. The south-Saharan migrants were pluck from their fragile boats and returned to Tunisia through coastal guard boats. The Sfax region is Tunisia's economic capital and with over 150 kilometres of Mediterranean coastline, it has become a hub for migrants from sub-Saharan Africa.
